This audio book is a nice companion piece to the Making Disciples of Oral Learners paperback book. The audio book includes the contents of the entire print version of the book, plus some additional resources: video footage about oral strategies being used around the world, video from the "Finishing the Task" conference, an audio testimony from Steve Douglass, the president of Campus Crusade, International, and other audio resources.
Around 70% of the world's population communicates mainly by stories, proverbs, drama, songs, poetry, and chants which all happens in a face-to-face context. Because oral learners tend to believe persons more than abstract truths, the spiritual life and example of the messenger are vital. The Church among peoples with oral traditions must engage with this change in communication if it is to reach the next generation for Christ.
"The majority of the remaining unreached peoples of the earth cannot read or write, so the Word of God will be most effectively communicated to them through oral means and storytelling...This book will be of great help to Christian workers around the world who wish to understand and relate in oral cultures." - Bob Creson, President, Wycliffe Bible Translators USA
"This book addresses the greatest obstacle to communicating the gospel to the four billion people who are oral learners. Pastors, churches, partners, networks, seminaries and mission agencies must embrace these oral means if they want to evangelize the unreached, disciple the new believers, train church leaders and multiply reproducing churches..." - Avery Willis, Executive Director, International Orality Network
